Two Brazilian university students convince the Canadian Government that they can invest and promote business between Brazil and Canada. They are invited to embark on a journey through the icy country. To their astonishment the trip practically comes for free. In the end, a half-truth becomes truth and a travel business is invented and it works until President Fernando Henrique Cardoso is re-elected in 1998 and the parity of the Real with the US Dollar explodes two weeks after his election.
